Health & Safety of our Employees and Client Satisfaction are the two main factors that focus our minds.

We continuously seek perfection with these two objectives and we continue to invest in Innovation and Staff training because in the environment that we work in, there is no room for errors or assumptions …the old adage still holds, practice makes perfect.

In 2016, we invested in the construction of our own Subsea Innovation Facility and it has proven to be a huge success with our Staff & Clients. We have perfected many subsea skills using this facility which allows for 4 divers working together in clear water or black muddy water and also working through a range of different tidal conditions in order to find out what exactly we can do and what we cannot do. The results we have achieved with our dive teams have been amazing and proven to be absolutely invaluable to our Clients .Some of the underwater skills we have practised:-

  • Class A underwater welding – After training our divers to Class A Standard AWS D3.6M 2010 2 x 6 man dive teams completed 21m of weld on a Bulk Carrier in Dublin Port under supervision of BV Class Surveyor
  • Underwater burning skills.
  • Subsea power cable repair – After extensive subsea jointer training of our divers in the new Subsea Innovation Facility, we successfully completed the first subsea power cable repair in the World in Oct 2016
  • Ship repair & maintenance.
  • Underwater concrete trials.
  • Cathodic Protection trials.
  • SBM hose change.
  • Steel pipeline repair.
  • ROV & Diver combined exercises.
  • Offshore Windfarm tasks.
  • Subsea equipment testing.
  • SBM maintenance equipment tests.

When our Engineering Dept. ask questions of what we can achieve in variable sea water conditions and if it’s safe to carry out a specific task – the answer from our Dive Supervisors now is - let’s try and perfect the process in the tank first. Before the facility was in place, the answer would have been – sure we can do it - and both ISC and/or Client would inevitably end up with increased costs or perhaps even H&S issues.

This training has brought a huge confidence to all our dive teams and our Clients because we now arrive at the job fully trained ... fail to prepare – prepare to fail!
