Greenlink Interconnector: ISC mobilise to Pembroke and Wexford

Updated: Mar 11, 2023

Our team mobilised to Pembroke in October 2022 to commence enabling works on the Greenlink Interconnector project.

The Greenlink is a subsea and underground electricity interconnector linking the power markets in Ireland and Great Britain and planned for commissioning in 2024. It is one of Europe’s most important energy infrastructure projects connecting the power markets in Ireland and Great Britain. Greenlink will consist of two converter stations - one located close to the Great Island substation in County Wexford and the other close to the Pembroke substation in Pembrokeshire - connected by two High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cables under the Irish Sea.

In February 2023, the Irish Sea Contractors team mobilised to Baginbun beach in Co. Wexford to commence enabling works.
